Pokhara is best known for its calm lakes and breathtaking mountain views . Once you are in Pokhara you you wish you could go little nearer to these mountains to better enjoy them.The region north to Pokhara is truly a trekker's paradise offering short treks of exceptional beauty. These treks pass through terraced farms and picturesque hill villages and offer spectacular Himalayan panorama of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Machhapuchare and others. We have specially choosen trails that takes you through best view points and we have itineraries for one, two, three or four days- to suit exactly to your requirements. We have these shorter itineraries for those who want to have a Himalayan hiking experience during their short holiday. Despite being short these are NOT. These couple of days spent on the Himalayan trails could be one of your most memorable holidays. One day trek to Naudanda The trek starts with a sunrise tour to Sarangkot. Sarangkot offers excellent view of rising sun over the snow capped mountains all around you.After taking breakfast at Sarangkot, we head for Naudanda which is about 4 hours of walk. From Naudanda we cath our vehicle back to Pokhara. Equally enjoyable one day trek can be arranged to Shanti Stupa. This trek starts after crossing the fewa lake on boat. Hiking for about 2 hours we reach the Buddhist stupa atop a forest ridge that commands superb view of the mountains. The trail is easy and returning is about one and half hour of walking. Two day trek to Dhampus Dhampus is a popular mountain view point.There are lodges to accommodate trekkers there but staying on our own camp would be more enjoyable.This two day trek starts at Phedi and reaches Dhampus same day.The sunset and sunrise over the Himalayas are really great at Dhampus. The hike back to Pokhara is also equally enjoyable.This trek can be extended to three days by returnin via Sarangkot on the second day instead of Phedi. Three day trek to Australian base camp This three day trek via Kande to Australian base camp offers stunning views of the central himalayas. You will have one of the most gorgeous views of the central mountains on this trek. It is one of the loveliest trek from Pokhara and highly recommended for watching the mountains.
