Trek days: 5 days This is perhaps the most popular of all the short treks in Nepal and truly deserves its reputation. It is easy , it can be done most of the months , the facilities on the trail is well developed and above all it offers fascinating mountain views. The trek starts from Nayapul near Pokhara which is reachable after an hour of drive.Crossing the suspension bridge over the Modi Khola river, we ascend slowly through farm terraces and sparse mountain villages.Along the way we frequently encounter colourful mule caravans carrying supplies to the mountains. Brilliant white peaks of Machhapuchare and Annapurna peaking over the green ridges will greet us from time to time. One the second day we reach the Ghorepani pass.Early next morning we climb the nearby Poon hill for the best view of the mountains. Poon hill offers breathtaking view of the Dhaulagiri, Annapurna , Nilgiri and other famous mountains of this region. From Ghorepani we descend for the beautiful gurung village of Ghandruk on the lap of the Annapurnas. This day we walk longer than usual for about 7 hours.Walking down through the innumerable steps we make a loop at Birethanti and catch our vehicle for Pokhara at Nayapul .
